GIOVANNI JUBERT

Graphic Designer. Typographer. Art Director. Father. Husband. Friend. Windsurfer. Diver. All around fish.

Originally from Barcelona, I moved to the Canary Islands in 90’s to ground my passion for water sports while studying Marine Sciences at the Universidad de Las Palmas. After many sunsets in Pozo Izquierdo, I then studied Industrial Design at the School of Arts & Crafts of Barcelona before moving to New York City to dive deep into Graphic Design, Typography and Calligraphy. I graduated with honors from Pratt Institute’s Communication Design Master Program in 2006.

Over the past twenty years, I have combined freelance projects with collaborative works for several companies and nonprofits in New York, Chicago, Barcelona and the Hawaiian islands. My work has been published in several publications and books and even awarded (twice), but most importantly it has taken me to meet wonderful people and make friends at many places.

I do have a strong passion for typography as I’ve spent many hours studying Calligraphy with master teachers such as Julian Waters, Cara Di Edwardo, John Downer and Alice Koeth and typography with professors that I so highly respect such Alan Kitching, Bob Gill, Tony Di Spignia or Graham Hanson.

Maybe as strong as my passion for watersports of all kinds, started by learning to swim at a very young age, to continue with windsurf and waterskiing, to surfing waves in Hawaii.
